Review: Tao Las Vegas

Wow- What an amazing feast for the senses.

So we landed in Sin City about 8:30 friday night. Reservations were at 10:15. Shouldn't be too much of an issue, right? Wrong. We barely made it by 10:30. This city needs to solve the strip traffic problem somehow.
Anyway - we had called ahead and let them know, they said they'd hold our seat an extra 15 mins. This ain't Seattle folks. Resteraunts full at 10:30 at night? Culture Shock!

So we arrived. Were given a pager and told we'd be seated soon. MyIce navigated the bar for us and got us something to drink while we stood and took in a bit of the atmosphere. This is an incredible place. A place to see and be seen. Now let me interject here, I have no desire to be either, we just got off the plane - but you can bet, even though she got up at 4:30 this morning to get to work - MyIce was worthy of being seen. And I was both honored and defensive when I realised that I wasn't the only one in the place that knew it.

After about 10 min of people watching, our little pager went off. In no time we were sitting amongst a dizzying whilrwind of activity. Before I knew what had happend we had ordered. And within moments I was in chopstick heaven.

Spicy potstickers that make your tongue tingle with delight. Up next, deep fried asparagus and green beans. Interesting, better with the sauce, not exactly healthy, but not bad.

Up next, Chicken Phad Tai - Amazingly delicious and delicate noodles, perfectly cooked chicken and just the right amount of kick. And to top it all off, we had the finger lickin' good dragon something or other spare ribs.

All filled up - I gotta tell you it was amazing meal. I know I planned to eat my way through Vegas - this was a masterful first step.

Gin Hahn,
